The Science Expo 2025, held between 28–30 October at the Millenáris in Budapest, marked the first major event in the series celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
At this popular science exhibition, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Education and Regional Development of the University of Pécs unveiled its newest 2025 edition Dienes games. Visitors to the university’s stand were able to try out Vízi-móka and LogIQka, two innovative tools designed to develop experiential and logical learning skills. The games proved a great success, attracting many buyers and generating strong interest in books about the life and work of Zoltán Dienes.

Vízi-móka is a renewed, water-themed version of the classic Dienes game Who Reaches the Castle?, in which small paper boats race to reach the safe haven of a beaver’s lodge. Beyond fostering logical reasoning, the game also supports environmental education, encouraging discussion about the protection of riverside habitats and the importance of clean drinking water.
LogIQka is a card-based board game built around selective waste collection, designed to enhance systematic thinking and logical skills. By sorting materials according to type, size, colour and condition, players not only have fun but also learn about sustainability in an engaging, playful way.
