The aim of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences is to make progress in science, to promote research results and to represent the Hungarian scientific area. We are proud that several of our lecturers are members of the Academy and therefore of the highly recognized Hungarian scientific community.
Full members of HAS
- Dr. Iván Bélyácz
Head of Department and professor of the Faculty of Economics. Corresponding member of the Academy since 2004 and full member since 2010. His major fields are financing and efficiency problems in investments, as well as the analysis of the theoretical issues of depreciation.
- Dr. Attila Borhidi
Professor emeritus and professor of the Faculty of Sciences. Corresponding member since 1993, full member since 2010. He specializes in botany, ecology and environmental protection.
- Dr. Tamás Péter Dóczi
Head of Clinics and Professor of the Medical School. Corresponding member since 2007, full member since 2013. He specializes in neurosurgery.
- Dr. Attila Felinger
Professor of the Faculty of Sciences, head of research team of the HAS. Corresponding member of the HAS since 2016. He specializes in separation science, liquid chromatography.
- Dr. Zsuzsanna Helyes
Professor of the Medical School, President of the János Szentágothai Research Center. From 2019 she is a corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. She specializes in neuropharmacology.
- Dr. László Kecskés
Professor of the Faculty of Law. Corresponding member of the HAS since 2013, full member since 2019. He specializes in civil, international and European law.
- Dr. György Kiss
Professor at the University of Pécs. Between 1998 and 2012, he served as the head of the Department of Labour Law and Social Security Law at the Faculty of Law. His areas of expertise include European labour law, the relationship between private law and labour law, as well as comparative public service law. His most recent research focuses on the interpretation of employment contracts within the framework of general contract law.
- Dr. László Koller
Professor of the Faculty of Sciences, head of research team of the HAS. Corresponding member of the HAS since 2016. He specializes in organic chemistry, homogeneous catalysis.
- Dr. László Korinek
Professor of the Faculty of Law. Corresponding member of the Academy since 2007, and full member since 2013. He specializes in state and jurisprudence and in criminology.
- Dr. György Kosztolányi
Professor emeritus of the Medical School. Corresponding member of the HAS since 2001, full member since 2007. He specializes in clinical genetics.
- Dr. Gábor L. Kovács
Professor of the Medical School. Corresponding member since 2004, full member since 2010. He specializes in endocrinology and laboratory diagnostics.
- Dr. Ilona Kovács Pálné
Professor of the Faculty of Law, corresponding member since 2013, full member since 2019. He specializes in regional science, administrative law and political science.
- Dr. László Lénárd
Professor of the Medical School. Corresponding member since 2001, full member since 2007. His special fields are neurobiology, neural physiology and behavioural science.
- Dr. József Vörös
Professor and Head of Department of the Faculty of Economics. Corresponding member of the Academy since 2013, full member since 2019. He specializes in mathematical modelling and analysis of corporate management.

- Dr. Dóra Reglődi
Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences since 2011. A physician, professor at the Department of Anatomy of the Faculty of General Medicine, Vice-Dean for Science of the Faculty, and Director of the Department of Anatomy. Her field of research is theoretical medicine and neuroscience.
- Dr. Zsolt Spéder
Since 2019, Zsolt Spéder has been a Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He is a sociologist and demographer, Scientific Advisor at the Hungarian Central Statistical Office’s Demographic Research Institute, Professor at the University of Pécs, and founder and head of the Doctoral School of Demography and Sociology. His specific areas of expertise include fertility, childbearing intentions and their realization, the effects of family policy measures, relationship dynamics, and fatherhood roles.
- Dr. László Szerb
Since 2012, László Szerb has been a Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He earned his PhD at West Virginia University (Morgantown, USA) in 1994. He is currently Professor at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Pécs and Head of the Doctoral School of Regional Policy and Economics. He has supervised 12 successfully defended PhD dissertations. His main research areas include entrepreneurship, and more recently, digital entrepreneurship and the competitiveness of small enterprises.
