What is a GOMP Online Course?

GOMP courses are asynchronous online courses offered through the EDUC Moodle platform, open to all EDUC students across the Alliance. These courses aim to expand students’ disciplinary horizons and promote international and interdisciplinary learning experiences.

Each course:

  • Has a workload of 60–75 hours (2–3 ECTS).
  • Is taught in English (recommended level: B1–B2).
  • Requires no disciplinary prerequisites.
  • Is designed for a minimum of 40 students from all partner universities.
  • Includes continuous and/or final evaluation, leading to an official EDUC certificate upon successful completion.
  • Will be promoted through the EDUC Catalogue.

Subject Focus

We welcome course proposals that:

  • Introduce a discipline to non-specialist students (e.g., Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to Biology).
  • Explore key contemporary topics, especially those related to:
    • European challenges
    • Digitalisation
    • Sustainable development
  • Offer a multidisciplinary approach to a topic.

Other innovative and relevant themes proposed by teachers will also be considered.

Course Schedule

Courses should take place:

  • Between February and June 2026 (Spring semester), or
  • Between September and December 2026 (Fall semester).

For this call, we are particularly seeking courses that will run for the first time during the Spring semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

Selection Process

  1. Teachers submit a project proposal using the official application form (see below).
  2. Local EDUC teams conduct a feasibility review.
  3. Proposals are presented to the Coordination Group for approval.
  4. Selected courses proceed to development and implementation stages.

Support for Teachers

Participating teachers will receive comprehensive support from the EDUC team, including:

  • Pedagogical guidance for course design and delivery.
  • Administrative assistance.
  • Financial support according to local institutional rules.
  • Access to training courses and workshops via the EDUC Teaching Academy.

Objectives and Expected Results

The GOMP initiative aims to:

  • Broaden students’ access to new disciplines and global issues.
  • Promote virtual mobility and internationalised teaching and learning.
  • Develop a shared European identity through collaborative and inclusive education.
  • Launch at least 8 new online courses across the Alliance during the 2025/2026 academic year.
