Near the Cathedral you can find the Barbican of Pécs – a fortress in the northwestern corner of the city wall, built in the 16th century. From the top a wonderful view of the city can be seen. A large portion of the city walls of Pécs still stands proudly.
Just opposite the Barbican of Pécs, you can find the Calvary Hill, and a few stairs away the Terrace of eight happiness ("Nyolc boldogság terasza" in Hungarian) presents a marvelous view to the city centre.
