For Yeldos Mukanov and Diana Amangeldi, coming to the University of Pécs started as two completely separate journeys from Kazakhstan. They arrived with different academic goals, studied in different faculties, built different routines, and imagined different futures. What they did not know at the time was that Pécs would eventually become much more than a university city for both.

We talked with Ishika Wira Lestari, a University of Pécs alumna who graduated with a BA in International Relations, about her journey from Bali to Pécs, studying abroad for the first time, finding her academic interests, and how her time in Hungary eventually led her to continue her studies in China. 

When Draha arrived in Pécs from Bangladesh, she was not only starting university, but also learning how to live independently in a completely new environment. Her journey began with the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship and a decision to study business, a field that connected her creative interests in media and communication with a more stable professional path.

For Lautaro Soza Torrijos, an Argentinian alumnus of the University of Pécs who graduated with a BA in International Relations, Pécs was more than just a place to study. It was a city where he built friendships, discovered new opportunities, and developed the skills and experiences that would later shape his professional path.

We spoke with Lautaro about his life in Pécs, his memories as an international student, and how his time at the University of Pécs became a stepping stone for his future.
