Would you like to help us battle coronavirus?

Numerous people have offered their help and donations of different kinds to the University of Pécs recently, for which we would like to express our gratitude!

The University of Pécs makes serious efforts in order to help battle the coronavirus pandemic. It is widely known, that in the Virology Laboratory of the Szentágothai Research Centre the scientists research the virus itself, thereby making steps toward a possible method of therapy. They were the first in Hungary to map the genome sequence of COVID-19. The accelerated research however requires more resources and materials.

The Clinics of the University established a Coronavirus Care Centre (Koronavírus Ellátó Központ/ KEK), which was set up to diagnose and treat potential COVID-19 infected patients.

To meet the necessary criteria of all the above mentioned responsibilities is crucial, therefore the staff of the Chancellery also takes on more work than usual.

The operation of the University of Pécs is financed by the state of Hungary, however, with regard to the current situation the institution welcomes and is very grateful for the kind donations. Financial donations can be transferred to the UP Foundation, where you can indicate that the donation should go for financing the fight against coronavirus. The amount can be as little as the price of a coffee that you had to postpone because of the restrictions.

The University can also accept donations in the form of services or goods.

The University of Pécs cannot and will not fail to care for the citizens in this region.
