What?

Through the EDUC Staff Secondment Programme, you, as a non-academic staff member, have a unique opportunity to work at another EDUC university for a period of two to six months. This programme provides both the host university and the visiting staff member with an excellent foundation for mutual learning, knowledge sharing, and future collaboration.

How?

All EDUC universities post positions that staff members from partner universities can apply for. The current call is for secondments taking place in 2026.

The host university will provide:

  • A workspace and assigned tasks.
  • Necessary access to the institution’s IT systems.
  • Assistance in finding accommodation and support with immigration processes, if needed.
  • A local contact person to provide training and help resolve administrative challenges.
  • A welcome and introduction to the institution, including a two-week orientation programme.

Selection criteria:

  • Relevant work experience and current position.
  • Familiarity with the tasks/themes outlined in the position.
  • Language proficiency (B2 in English and/or the local language, as specified in the call).
  • Recommendation and support from the applicant's immediate supervisor (to be uploaded with the application).
  • Agreement between the sending and receiving units—and their respective leaders—on the secondment.

Applications from your university will be reviewed by both your university and the host university offering the position. The host institution will make the final decision on who is selected to participate, in dialogue with your university and the EDUC coordination group.

To further support your mobility, the EDUC Alliance will provide a monthly housing allowance of €1,000 to all participating staff members.

Furthermore, employees seconded to the University of Paris–Nanterre, University of Rennes, University of South-Eastern Norway, or University of Potsdam are eligible for an additional monthly bonus of €500.
