Visitors can also meet Hungary’s greenest university, the University of Pécs, at the Planet Budapest 2021 Sustainability Expo and Summit held between 29 November - 5 December. In addition to the more than 150 professional exhibitors, during the event there are interactive and youth programmes and roundtable discussions available for registered participants, with public programmes starting on 30 November. The aim of the event and of the University of Pécs is to raise awareness to the adverse environmental, social and economic processes and to show that these negative changes, which overshadow the future of mankind, can still be reversed.
Featured professional programmes
Through the introduction of the research and development portfolio, as well as the sustainability efforts and achievements of several faculties of the university, including the Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and the Faculty of Business and Economics, the University of Pécs hopes to promote a greener, more sustainable approach to life. With the help of the project presentations, the priority research areas are presented, which answer questions from the aspects of student career development and are of value to companies as well.
In addition to the professional programmes, interested students are also welcome at the booth of the University of Pécs, where we will focus on a unique interactive field table presenting the "green" infrastructure and developments of Pécs. Behind the QR code-like markers placed on the field table, the virtual content will be displayed through a smartphone-operated application, which helps the visitors to navigate the world of "green" developments in Pécs, while also shaping their attitude and introducing ideas for sustainable everyday operation. Participants can learn about the sustainability developments started and completed in Pécs in recent years, from the TPP to the university and the biogas plant of the water plant.
The University of Pécs is looking forward to welcome you at Planet Budapest 2021 from 30 November to 5 December 2021. The event, which is subject to pre-registration, presents a number of professional exhibitors from the Visegrád countries, promoting the sustainability turnaround with their technological developments, innovative products and services. In addition, the event offers spectacular, entertaining and informative programmes, providing a comprehensive overview of nature, our way of life and the processes around us, offering tangible solutions for sustainable everyday life.
