Kazakh Ambassador Visited the University of Pécs

His Excellency Zhanibek Abdrasov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary, paid a visit to the Rector of the University of Pécs, Attila Miseta, on 11 June. One of the reasons for the meeting was the preparation of a new academic relationship in the field of tourism between the International University of Tourism and Hospitality, established in Turkistan in 2019, and the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Pécs.

At the meeting, His Exc. Zhanibek Abdrasov, who worked as a consul at the Kazakh delegation to the United Nations in New York before coming to Hungary, stressed that he was pleased with the strategic partnership between our countries, which he would like to further strengthen in the academic sphere. "I consider it important that Hungary is not only Budapest, so I will visit several cities.

I am impressed by the historical roots of Pécs and the University of Pécs, and the quality of the education available here,"

said the Ambassador.

Twenty-eight Kazakh students are currently studying at the University of Pécs, most of them come to Hungary in the framework of the popular Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme. On the occasion of the first visit of the Ambassador of the vast Central Asian country to Pécs, Rector Attila Miseta expressed the hope that mutually advantageous collaborations will be established on higher educational institutional level as well.
