The Summa Merlot 2017 of the University Wine Estate of Pécs has been voted to be included on the list of 12 Best Wines of Hungary! The latest list ‘Super 12’ selection of 2021, curated by the Hungarian Wine Writers' Association, was published on 3 January.

The dry and semi-dry white and red wines made by Hungarian producers were evaluated for the sixth time: "This is a unique competition! Wine experts first rank the wines of the last five vintages that they consider quality wines worthy of national and international attention. Then, they evaluate the wines nominated by most people in two separate sessions, in different order, judged by two committees" – explained the Hungarian Wine Writers' Association.

The Summa series include the premium wines of the UP University Wine Estate. Summa means completeness, the best of all. The Summa Merlot 2017 is an elegant, round, deep, complex wine with many layers to unfold! Characterized by a long aftertaste, wrapped in the warmth of velvety tannins, you will find intense plum jam, black cherries, sweet blueberry pie flavours and aromas, further seasoned by elegant barrel ripening complete with cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, caramel, black chocolate and some coconut flavours.

A superb red wine – one of the flagship products of the University Wine Estate.
