PTE Pollack Swimming Pool

Renovation work on the Pollack Swimming Pool began in June. During the demolition of the pool bed, unforeseen structural engineering issues came to light, requiring a full review and re-engineering of the foundation plans.

The necessary technical designs have now been completed, and the required compaction of the base course has been secured, allowing construction to progress to the next key phase. Following the pouring of the blinding concrete layer, reinforcement steelwork and pipe installations will take place, followed by the final concreting of the pool floor.

During the works, several natural water channels were uncovered beneath the pool. To safely divert this groundwater, five sub-surface drainage channels have been installed.

Construction is currently progressing according to schedule, with completion still targeted for spring.

Following the renovation, the Pollack Swimming Pool will continue to offer popular early-morning swimming slots and function as an outdoor summer lido, whilst expanding its range of services. Under the current plans, the facility will be open from April to October and will also serve as the home venue for the PTE PEAC water polo team.
