Traffic restrictions and special shuttle buses at the weekend

In the second half of the week there will be several big events in the city, from Thursday to Saturday the University Days of Pécs will take place in the Expo Center, on Saturday the City Cycling Day and the Ornamental Plant Exhibition and Fair in the Botanical Garden, and on Sunday this year's Tour de Hongrie will finish at the Pécs Zoo, with several events for the people of Pécs and the surrounding area. Traffic restrictions are expected in the city due to the events, but special shuttles will be available to help with transport.

Increased bus services (PEN 2024 - Thursday-Saturday)
During the PEN Festival, Tüke Busz Zrt. will operate a more frequent service (line 1) during the evening and night period, and will also launch its well-known PENdrive special service. On the opening day (9 May), two articulated buses will also run to the PEN venue (EXPO Center) at the times indicated.

From the Expo Center to the city centre: 0:20, 01:00, 02:00, 03:00, 04:00.

Full-width closure on 12 May: 
Pécs, Ranga László Street, Abaligeti Street, Magyarürögi Street, Szigeti Street, Hungária Street, the section of Rákóczi Street between Hungária Street and Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Street, Lapisi Street and Remeterét Street from 14:00 to 16:30,
from 12:15 to 17:00 on Pécs, Irgalmasok Street, Széchenyi Square, Hunyadi János Street between Mária Street and Aradi Vértanúk Street, Aradi Vértanúk Street, Bartók Béla Street and Bárány Street,
from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. the section of Pécs, Málics Ottó Street between Fenyves Row and Ángyán János Street,
from 4:30 to 21:00 on Pécs, Ángyán János Street, Dömörkapui Street and Entz Béla Street,
from 4.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. the section of Bárány Street between Erdész Street and Lapisi Road.

Traffic changes:
At the intersection of main road 6 and Szántó Kovács János Street, it will be forbidden to turn left in a large curve from the direction of Nendvitch Andor Street, to turn right in a small curve from the direction of Nendvitch Andor street, and to turn right in the direction of Ybl Miklós street towards Szigeti street. Only residents of the closed area are allowed to enter the section of János Szántó Kovács utca affected by the closure.

From the intersection of Tüzér Street, and Endresz György Street, traffic is prohibited in the direction of Szigeti út. In Tüzér Street, when traveling northbound from Athinay Simon Road, a left turn into Endresz György street is allowed.
In Szabadság Street, the section between the main road 6 and Rákóczi Street, as well as Rákóczi Street from the direction of Alsómalom Street, is prohibited.
After the competitors have passed, the intersection of Petőfi Sándor Street and Hungária Street will be temporarily opened to traffic, so that the University of Pécs Clinical Centre Emergency Care Unit can be accessed by car from the south along the route Petőfi Sándor Street - Alkotmány Street - Ifjúság útja - Honvéd Street.

Free transportation to fan zones:
On this day, Tüke Busz Zrt. will provide free shuttle services to the most anticipated stage of the Tour de Hongrie cycling race - the Bárány út supporters' zone - and the results ceremony. The buses will depart from the Main Station at 12:00, 13:00 and 14:00 from stops 34 and 35.
Route: Main Railway Station - Lánc Street - Ágoston Square - Tunnel - Hunyadi Road - Pálosok - Kikelet Restaurant (corner of Málics Ottó Street, Fenyves Street) - crossing of Bárány Road, Democracy Road.

In the direction of the finish line, you can get off at the Kikelet Restaurant, in the direction of the Bárány Road supporters' zone at the intersection of Bárány and Democracy Road at the Mandulás playground, and from there - outside the closed track - you can reach your destination on foot.
For those who want to watch the race live at Széchenyi Square but also want to see the finish line at the zoo, Tüke Bus Zrt. At 16:10 - after the second crossing - is launching a bus from the Tunnel on the route Hunyadi Road - Pálosok - Kikelet Restaurant (Málics Ottó street, Fenyves row corner), also with the Tour de Hongrie sign. After the announcement of the results, 15 minutes, probably around 16:50, a bus will depart from the Kikelet Restaurant back to the Main Railway Station.

UP Fan Zones

On Saturday, UP will be waiting for everyone with games and gifts at the Pécs Thermal Power Plant Bike Weekend on Széchenyi Square in Pécs between 11 am and 6 pm, and on Sunday, two fan zones will be open for fans on Széchenyi Square between 11 am and 5 pm and on Sziget Road between 2 pm and 5 pm!
