Recently, Dorka Juhász, a former student of the Rátgéber Basketball Academy and a key member of the national team, offered her match jersey for a charity auction. The proceeds will be donated in full to the Oncohaematology Department of the Clinical Centre of the University of Pécs Department of Paediatrics, via the Eurakvilo Paediatric Oncology and Children's Hospice Charity Foundation. The winning bidder—or rather, the donor—received their prize on 19 February during halftime of the Hungarian Championship match between NKA Universitas Pécs and Sopron Basket.

Dorka Juhász is an internationally recognised figure in Hungarian women's basketball. She was a WNBA runner-up with the Minnesota Lynx (2024), an Italian league champion with Famila Schio in the 2024/2025 season, and currently plays for the Turkish side Galatasaray.

The young player offered her jersey for auction a few weeks ago. The Oncohaematology Department, which is soon moving to new premises, intends to use the funds to purchase furniture, equipment, and accessories to help create a family- and child-friendly environment.

The charity auction started at 50,000 HUF. The initiative not only secured significant financial support but once again highlighted the importance of collective efforts in helping sick children recover. The donor, Bianka Deli, explained that her interest in the campaign was personal, as her niece is currently being treated at the PTE Paediatric Clinic.

The national team jersey was presented to the winner by dr. László Rátgéber, the Professional and Strategic Director of the National Basketball Academy. Following this, Bianka Deli presented a symbolic "giant cheque" for the winning amount to Zoltán Győrffy, Director of the Public Relations Centre.

"The Paediatric Clinic of the University of Pécs is constantly developing, and every donation and noble gesture contributes to ensuring that future generations can recover in the kindest and most pleasant surroundings possible during their illness," said Zoltán Győrffy.

The ceremonial presentation during the NKA Universitas Pécs vs. Sopron Basket women’s basketball match was a fitting conclusion to the campaign, where sport and social responsibility once again went hand in hand. The match ended in a victory for NKA Universitas Pécs.
