To alleviate the extreme heat, a cooling misting gate has been deployed today, 29 June 2026, in the south park of the PTE Medical School (ÁOK). Provided by TETTYE FORRÁSHÁZ Zrt., the unique feature of this initiative is that the technical foundations of the structure were originally designed by mechanical engineering students from the university’s Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (MIK).

These cooling devices, already familiar from several locations across Pécs city centre, represent a successful fusion of university innovation and practice-oriented engineering education. The MIK student project behind the construction now directly serves the comfort of the campus community during the critical summer period.

Installed through the collaboration between TETTYE FORRÁSHÁZ Zrt. and the University of Pécs, the device provides immediate, eco-conscious microclimate optimisation in the highly frequented green space. The deployment of the misting gate is a clear example of how a university concept integrates into urban infrastructure, ultimately returning to benefit the institutional community through corporate social responsibility.
