COVID-19: Prime Minister Met Virology Professors of the University of Pécs (16 March)

On Monday (16 March) morning, the Operational Group responsible for the fight against the coronavirus had a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán at the Ministry of Interior. Following the meeting, the Prime Minister consulted with virology professors about the measures necessary with a view to preventing an epidemic - according to the information of Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister via MTI.

The meeting was attended by Ferenc Jakab, Associate Professor of the Institute of Biology of the Faculty of Sciences, University of Pécs (UP) and also head of the coronavirus research group; Gábor Kemenesi, researcher of the Virology Laboratory of the Szentágothai János Research Centre, University of Pécs; Zoltán Kis, head of laboratory of the National Centre for Public Health; József Kónya, Professor of the Medical Microbiology and Virology Laboratory, University of Debrecen and Katalin Burián, Head of Department-Associate Professor of the Medical Microbiology and Immunobiology, University of Szeged, in addition to Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics; Minister of Human Capacities László Kásler and Antal Rogán, the Prime Minister’s cabinet chief on behalf of the government.
