The University of Pécs has once again confirmed its place among international higher education institutions in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) world rankings, where it is ranked highly in several disciplines. More than 2000 institutions from 115 countries are included in this year's list.

THE has recently published its ranking of eleven fields of study, which is influenced by, among other things, the number of publications and research cited, the proportion of foreign students, the citation rate of research, and the proportion of students and teachers. These rankings show that

PTE has an excellent sub-ranking of 401-500 in Clinical and Health and 501-600 in Psychology,

with all indicators showing an increase compared to previous years.

PTE's ’Educational performance’ has achieved a score of 40.9 in the ranking, which shows a continuous and significant improvement since the score of 19.6 in 2020. In addition to education, the institution places a strong emphasis on research-development and innovation, with the Szentágothai Research Centre currently hosting a number of medical and scientific research projects, which is partly responsible for the 'Research Environment' score of 18.7, also an improvement on previous years.

PTE has a high proportion of international students compared to other ranked universities, with 24% of students coming from abroad, reflecting the global attractiveness of the institution and its commitment to internationalisation. Students from all over the world come to Pécs not only for longer stays but also for shorter ones, such as the Winter University organised by the International Centre, which started on Monday and included 20 Chinese students spending three weeks at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The ’International outlook’ indicator for this year has reached a score of 57.4, showing a steady increase compared to previous years. PTE is constantly striving to provide its students with excellent education and research opportunities, contributing to the development of the region and the country.
