The Universitas Quinqueecclesiensis Foundation is Registered

The Universitas Quinqueecclesiensis Foundation was registered by the court on 29 June. The University of Pécs will continue to operate according to a new model, supported by the decision of the Senate of UP. The registration of the Foundation is another milestone in change of ownership on 1 August.

The President of the Foundation will be Prof. Dr. József Bódis, State Secretary for Higher Education, Innovation and Vocational Training, Rector Emeritus of UP, and its members will be Dr. Éva Mikes, Government Commissioner of the South Transdanubian Economic Development Zone, former Deputy Mayor of Pécs; Dr. Katalin Szili, Ministerial Commissioner and former Speaker of the National Assembly; István Decsi, Chancellor of UP, and Dr. Gábor Rappai, Professor of the Faculty of Business and Economics, UP.

The Foundation provides higher education, talent management, research and other public services in a private form, independent from the government. The state, as a strategic partner, provides long-term funding guarantees to ensure that these public tasks are carried out in a modern way.
