Swiss Diplomatic Visit to the University of Pécs

On April 21, 2026, a high-level diplomatic delegation visited our institution, reinforcing the university’s international ties and the importance of Swiss-Hungarian educational cooperation.

During the visit, His Excellency Alexander Renggli, Switzerland’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and Céline Imobersteg, Attaché, paid a courtesy call at the university. The guests were welcomed by Dr. Attila Miseta, Rector of the University of Pécs, and Dr. Norbert Sipos, Deputy Director for International Centre. The central topic of the meeting was mobility plans between the institution and Switzerland.

Dr. Attila Miseta presented the history of the University of Pécs and Pécs’s multicultural past. Mr. Ambassador, Alexander Renggli highlighted Switzerland’s plans to join European mobility programs. During the discussion, the parties emphasized the importance of mobility for European students and faculty.
