Inspired by the success of MoonBike 2020 and 2021, the University of Pécs has once again announced the MoonBike challenge. Our goal is to break last year's records by cycling (on bicycle or stationary bike) the Earth-Moon distance in two months, a total of 384,400 km, and to promote healthy lifestyles and environmental awareness over the duration of the challenge.

The 2022 MOON BIKE season has started on 4 June with a short cycling trip, starting from the building of the Rector's Cabinet of the University of Pécs to the Faculty of Sciences.

From 4 June, anyone can join the challenge on the MOON BIKE Facebook page. The kilometres travelled can be uploaded with the help of any cycling application  on the https://pte.hu/hu/form/moonbike page, complete with a screenshot image. You can also join the challenge by using a stationary bike, in which case you can upload a photo of the odometer display.

Join us! Hop on your bike today! »

Similarly to last year, this year’s programme is enriched by partial challenges, encouraging the community to cycle a distance in real life or virtually every week. Gift packages are drawn weekly among those taking part in the weekly challenges.

During the project, the Directorate for Connections cooperates with several university units: the staff of the Sports Office, the UP for Families programme and the Green University programme, as well as the colleagues responsible for marketig at each faculty are also involved in the promotion and communication of the project. We are looking forward to the support of the university's corporate partners as well.

Let us cycle to the Moon and back!
