
On June 11, 2026, a high-level diplomatic delegation visited our institution, reinforcing the university’s international ties and the importance of Kosovan-Hungarian educational cooperation.

During the visit, His Excellency, Delfin Pllana, Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Hungary met with to the university’s rector, dr. Attila Miseta and tot he director of the International Centre, dr. István Tarrósy. The central topics of the meeting were mobility plans between the institution and Kosovo and the drafting of a Memorandum of Understanding between the parties.
The rector presented the history of the University of Pécs's internationalisation, highlighting a remarkably diverse community of over 5,700 international students from more than 146 countries, which currently includes 10 students from Kosovo. The Ambassador reflecting on his deep ties to Hungary, highlighted Kosovo’s plans to expand educational partnerships beyond Budapest, specifically referencing the University of Prishtina and the University for Business and Technology. During the discussion, the parties empasised the importance of university-to-university mobility and agreed to facilitate the participation of Kosovan academic leaders in the upcoming Western Balkans Forum higher education conference hosted by the University of Pécs.
