171 students from 22 countries will start the autumn semester of the 2022/2023 academic year at the University of Pécs in the framework of the Erasmus+ KA131, 171, SA and EDUC mobility programmes. A warm welcome to all of you!
Most of the international students come from Spain and France, but there are also students from Canada, Dominica, Japan, Morocco and South Korea. Péter Árvai, Deputy Director of the International Centre, made smart remarks in his welcome speech highlighting the opportunities the city and the University provides, and shared a brief historical overview.
Judit Németh, Head of the Mobility and Scholarship Office at the International Centre, told the students all the information necessary for a successful semester and then introduced the colleagues with whom students should keep in touch with during the upcoming semester about day-to-day matters.
Finally, the ESN was introduced. "I remember my first days here: I did not know anyone, which was very depressing. But I soon found out how helpful everyone was and
now I have lots of friends in Pécs."
- said Amr Alaraj, representing ESN, encouraging the newcomers.
The event ended with a reception, where students and professionals had a chance to talk informally.
