The Janus University Theatre (JESZ) celebrated its 25th Jubilee. On this unique occasion, they organized a festive event, and also published a book about the history of the university theatre group.

„It is very touching to see you all here, together” – said András Ernő Tóth, the art director of the theatre.

János Mikuli, director of JESZ

Dr. Tamás Fedeles, vice rector for education emphasized the importance of a community experience in his speech, who pointed out that this notion is a prominent, shared aspect in both the 20th and 25th jubilee volumes about the theatre. He also highlighted that the centenary celebrations started with the premiere of the JESZ University Theatre titled „Magammal viszem”.

At the event, several awards have been conferred by János Mikuli, director of the Janus University Theatre.

Jubilee Awards:

Éva Radnai, Zsuzsa Hágen, Bianka Somogyi, Péter Kopeczky, Ágnes Major, László Simara.

Outstanding Actor/ Actress Awards:

Marcell Kopa, Gáspár Ágoston, Flóra Mekis, Dénes Frigyes Gácsik, Krisztián Háber, Kamilla Kőhalmi, Máté Popa.

Renáta Pásztó and László Inhof founding members have received UP University Culture Awards for their decades of artistic achievements.

The last 25 years have been a respectable achievement, however, hopefully the past decades have only been a glimpse of the long years to follow. Theatre is forever, and the Janus University Theatre is even more: forever young.

Happy birthday, JESZ!
