Exchange and International students are provided with a student ID card with which they can have the same advantages as Hungarian students e.g. reduced fares for all public transport, reduced-price entrance tickets for museums, Youth Hostel accommodation and library membership, sport facilities for free of charge.
We kindly ask you to start the student card application only after the enrollment.
Discounts with a validated Hungarian student card
A valid Hungarian student card entitles you to a wide range of discounts across Hungary, including:
- 90% discount on the Hungary Pass (Országbérlet) for students, allowing unlimited travel on most regional trains and buses.
- Discounted student passes for local public transport (e.g. in Budapest and other Hungarian cities).
- Discounted admission to museums, theatres, cinemas, and other cultural institutions.
- Discounts at sports facilities, such as swimming pools, gyms, and sports centres.
- Student discounts at selected shops, restaurants, and service providers.
- Eligibility to work through student cooperatives while holding a valid student status.
- ISIC benefits, as the Hungarian student card is also an ISIC card, providing access to thousands of student discounts in Hungary and abroad.
