On November 6, 2025, the University of Pécs held a ceremonial senate meeting to award an honorary doctorate to Prof. Dr. Boguslaw Przywora.

Boguslaw Przywora has been a scholarship holder and visiting professor at numerous prestigious foreign universities and research institutes. In addition to his scientific work, he also applies his theoretical knowledge in legal practice as a member of the Krakow Regional Bar Association. While also serving as a legal expert to the lower house of the Polish parliament (the Sejm) for many years. He is one of the most renowned authorities in his field, who has also helped criminal law lecturers at the University of Pécs Faculty of Law to participate in research at the University of Częstochowa.
His research work spans various areas of law, covering almost all fundamental rights, including constitutional law and administrative law, from the legal regulation of organ transplants to issues of normativity in banking law. As the head of an interdisciplinary deradicalisation research center, he has led and continues to lead multidisciplinary research projects. He has carried out several internationally recognised successful research projects. He belongs to the camp of public lawyers who strive to maintain a balance between theoretical and practical knowledge. He tirelessly seeks the truth and always speaks out against injustice and abuse of the law. His professional intelligence, humor, and helpfulness are irreplaceable, said László Kőhalmi, professor and head of the Department of Criminology and Penitentiary Law at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, describing Boguslaw Przywora's professional work and public activities.
Proposal for the Senate meeting on March 27, 2025
On the initiative of Prof. Dr. László Kőhalmi, head of department, and based on the decision of the Faculty Council, I propose that Prof. Dr. Bogusław Przywora, university professor and vice-president of the Uniwersytet Jana Długosza w Częstochowie, be awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa.
Prof. Dr. Bogusław Przywora is the head of the Faculty of Law and Economics at the Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa, with whose cooperation a scientific relationship has existed for more than a decade, since 2012, there has been an academic relationship between the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Pécs and the Polish Jan Dlugosz University (Czechtochowa).
Thanks to the cooperation of Professor Bogusław Przywora, numerous joint international scientific symposia have been held, and he has helped to strengthen the international scientific reputation of criminologists teaching at the Faculty of Law. As editor-in-chief of the Gubernaculum et Administartio journal, he has willingly supported the acceptance and publication of our lecturers' publications.
Professor Przywora contributed to foreign-language doctoral degree procedures by inviting foreign review committee members and successfully conducting the procedures in order to increase international visibility.
Bogusław Przywora is the Polish co-leader of the SU-GOVERNANCE-09-2020 HORIZON 2020 project ("Deradicalisation in Europe and Beyond: Detect, Resolve and Reintegrate") coordinated by Glasgow Caledonian University.
His research work spans various areas of law, covering almost all fundamental rights, from the legal regulation of organ transplants to issues of normativity in banking law, including constitutional and administrative law. He is the president of the Interdisciplinary Deradicalisation Research Centre, so further joint research activities are expected, e.g., combating terrorism, preventing the radicalisation of young people, and new trends in medical law.
