Thirty students from 6 EDUC universities have enrolled in the ‘Social Work and Social Ecology’ blended mobility program, launched this week. As part of the special program, students attend online classes in April, followed by a physical mobility program in July, when the participants will meet in Pécs for a week and build a community garden with local NGOs.
The academic program is provided by the Department of Community and Social Studies of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, while the International Centre is responsible for the overall organization of the program. After class exciting social programs await the students, led by Hungarian mentor students.
One of the objectives of the EDUC alliance is to provide high-quality short-cycle programs for its students. The University of Pécs is the first such program to take place. Every EDUC member university selected 5 students to participate in the course. There was a huge interest in the program, some universities had over 70 students apply to participate.
In July two EDUC short-term programs will be offered to the students. The course ‘Connecting Your IoT Devices’, will be organized by Rennes 1 University in France, and the ’Law and Technology’ program will be hosted by the University of Pécs in Hungary. By the end of 2022, a total of nine short-cycle programs will be organized at EDUC member universities in various subject areas.
