The International Centre of the University of Pécs will deliver an exclusive online training entitled Diplomatic Protocol Masterclass for professionals of the African Union from 1 to 5 December 2025. The program will feature the University’s distinguished faculty together with ambassadors and consuls, offering participants direct, first-hand insights into the practical realities of diplomacy and international cooperation.

This intensive course, designed specifically for professionals working in institutions affiliated with the African Union, offers a unique opportunity for participants to explore key areas of diplomacy, protocol, and intercultural communication from a European perspective and in a practice-oriented manner.

The organization of this training is the result of the professional week hosted by the University of Pécs in the summer of 2025 for a ten-member African Union delegation, upon the request and with the support of the Tempus Public Foundation. The aim of the summer program was to build a bridge between the African continent and Hungarian higher education,  through knowledge transfer, partnerships, and a jointly shaped future.

Another important foundation of the initiative is the Africa Research Centre at the University of Pécs, which has been active for more than 15 years and has become one of the most dynamic Africa-focused research hubs in Central and Eastern Europe. The Centre's professional background and long-term research collaborations have also contributed to making it possible for the University of Pécs to organize this high-quality, tailor-made training.

The Diplomatic Protocol Masterclass marks another milestone in the cooperation between the University of Pécs and the African Union, further strengthening professional relations and contributing to the development of participants’ international competencies.
