The Foundation for Africa celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. In order to mark the anniversary, the Hungarian-Africa Week was held in Budapest from 12-18 September at the BMC, where a number of local African organisations were represented.

Since its establishment, the Africa Research Centre of the University of Pécs has been a key partner of the Foundation for Africa. The themes and programmes of the 15 September's Education and Science Day were also organised by the Pécs Research Centre. During the day-long presentations and round-table discussions, local experts looked at the relationship between Hungarian and African education and discussed how Africa is represented in the Hungarian education. The Education Hungary, Nairobi Consortium and Office was also presented during the day, which is a collaboration between four Hungarian higher education institutions.

The highlight of the day was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the University of Pécs and The Coalition on Media and Education for Development Africa Forum (CAFOR). The document was signed by Dr. Lawalley Cole, Director of CAFOR, and by Prof. Dr. Ferenc Jakab, Vice-Rector for Innovation, on behalf of PTE.
